Learn more about the internals and functionality of your PC. Learn about the types of abuse it can and can't take.
Computing @ EKU Survival Skills-1 hour

Learn all about your computing options at EKU, how to get help when you need it, and training.
Webmail-1 hour
Prerequisite: Please know your E-key username and password.
Learn the basic web interface of EKU Webmail, options, and how to setup your address book.

WINDOWS
Windows--Getting Stated-2 hours
Prerequisite: Basic keyboarding
Topics covered: Using the mouse and keyboard, starting a program, minimizing, maximizing and resizing windows, using commands, using tool buttons, creating folders, managing drives and directories, understanding drives and media types, opening, saving, and copying files, using the status bar, using quick launch, accessing the Internet, understanding the basic features of Windows XP, Using My Computer and Windows Explorer, finding help in Windows, finding files and folders, using the start menu and task bar.
Windows-Files & Folders-2 hours
Prerequisite: Basic keyboarding
Topics covered: Know parts of My computer and Explorer windows, storage, hierarchy of files and folders, understanding the folder tree, manage the display of files and folders in the window, create a folder, open a file from the window, copy, move, rename, delete and undelete files and folders, open an application using a shortcut, save a file with a proper and useful name, use the open and save as dialog boxes, format a floppy disk, use find/search to locate a file, compress and decompress a file, learn different drives, view and sort files within a folder, and move files between folders.

Microsoft Word--Getting Started-1.5 hours
Prerequisite: None
Topics covered: Explore the Word environment, open, save & close a document, navigating a document, edit text, use undo and redo, select text, move & copy text, finding & replacing text, work with font formatting, work with paragraph formatting, and work with margins.
Formatting Your College Papers With Style-1.5 hours
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word
Topics covered: How to create and use tables and columns, printing documents, setting tabs, indents, and bullets, advanced page setup (e.g., headers, footers, page numbering), inserting and formatting pictures and clipart, and the thesaurus and spell check.

Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word
Topics covered: Check spelling and grammar, use Thesaurus, use a template, create a template, define and apply styles, and modify and delete styles.

Topics covered: Exploring the PowerPoint environment, opening, saving, and closing a presentation, creating a presentation, working with toolbars, working in outline view, rearranging and deleting slides, using slides from other presentations, exploring text formatting, moving & copying text.
PowerPoint Presentation Pizzazz-1.5 hours
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of PowerPoint
Topics covered: Create and save a presentation, working with toolbars, work in outline view, use autocorrect and style checker, use templates, customize the slide master, add speaker notes and footers, and building a custom slide.
Advanced PowerPoint-1.5 hours
Prerequisite: PowerPoint navigation/toolbars
Topics covered: Adding audio and video to slides, adding links, hiding and unhiding slides, using templates, backgrounds, color schemes, and exporting your presentation to HTML (web).
PowerPoint Graphics-1.5 hours
Prerequisite: PowerPoint navigation/toolbars
Topics covered: Drawing objects, using AutoShapes, working with word art, inserting symbols, working with clipart, formatting clipart, using the drawing toolbar, learning about organizational charts, create an organizational chart, and formatting an organizational chart.
