Rules to follow, rules to live by:

IRON RULES:

If you are caught on the Internet (surfing or anything else non-game related)  for any reason you may be asked to leave.  Have your games patched and have all the latest drivers for your hardware prior to this event! This is for gaming and not other activities.  Have all P2P software OFF!

Registered players ONLY.  No walk-ins accepted. We may have a waiting list, however.

NO file sharing or uploading of viruses or other malware!  The minute you are found doing either of these, you'll be removed from the event and banned for life!

Your computer must be running an antivirus program during the event! Since you're an EKU student use Symantec.

Conduct yourself in a respectable manner and respect others, especially the LAN party staff!

1.0Conduct

1.0a     Players will conduct themselves in a reasonable manner, maintaining a friendly and polite demeanor to spectators, members to the staff, other players, etc.

1.0b     Players will refrain from the use of all vulgar language when inside the gaming area.  Player handles may not contain vulgar language, or reference to any subject matter that is not suitable for the public.  Teasing competitors during matches is prohibited.  All rules of conduct also apply to chatting through the game console.

1.0c     Players are expected to compete in a professional manner.  Throwing a match, halting play without cause, or showing flagrant lack of effort can be constructed as a violation of player conducts, and result in a match forfeit by the Tournament director.

1.0d     Players are required to be punctual for their scheduled matches, and are only allowed a 5-minute grace period before they are eligible for a forfeit.  It is at the Tournament Director’s discretion whether or not to extend this grace period in specific instances, depending on the importance of the match, or any other extenuating circumstances.

1.0e     Use of alcohol or drugs is prohibited.  Players may not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol during this event.

1.0f      Smoking is prohibited except in designated areas outside the building.

1.1  Dress Code

1.1a     Players may dress in jeans, shorts, slacks, skirts, shoes, T-shirts or dress shirts.  Hat can be worn.  Clothes should not display vulgar language, or have inappropriate pictures.  Shirt and shoes are required.

2.0    LAN Equipment

2.0a     Servers are provided by EKU for the event.  All machines are identical in hardware.

2.0b     Do not touch servers.  Anyone accessing the servers without consent will be immediately asked to leave.

2.0c      Respect the people and equipment around you.  Treat others and their equipment how you would treat your own.

2.0d      Do not touch, vandalize, or have any other form of physical contact with other players computer equipment without their permission!  This includes trying to steal it.

2.0e      At the registration desk your computer and equipment will be marked and  you'll be given a subsequent ID card.  DO NOT LOOSE THESE as they are your only proof of ownership.

2.0f      Be sure all of your equipment is marked at the time of registration so that you may leave with it at the end of the night.  Failure to do so will be a failure to leave with your equipment!

2.0g     Your equipment (computer, keyboard, mouse, etc.) is your own.  You are responsible for it's safety and security and we assume no liability!

3.0  Other

3.0a     All gamers are required to wear headphones while gaming.  If you don’t have headphones you’ll be playing without sound.

3.0b     You are expected to have copies of all the games you plan on playing.  They should be installed during the setup period.  You are NOT allowed to pass games through the network.

3.0c     The minimums for admission will be a picture ID.

3.0d    Announcements will be made periodically during the event and it is imperative that you pay attention and keep the noise to a minimum.  A lot is going on during the party, and we don’t want anyone to miss out on the action because they missed an announcement.  Everyone wants to have a good time, so lets show a little respect for the people trying to run the event.

3.0e     We will spend as much time as we can trying to accommodate everyone who attends our party, and it is impossible to please everyone who attends.  We kindly ask you to not complain the entire event that your game, map or special feature is not being used.  If you have something you want to see played (like a map) approach one of the ResNet staff members and ask them about it.  Do not sit at your seat yelling about what you’re playing.  This will only make the staff less likely to help you and get your game type going.  If your yelling and whining become overly annoying to the enjoyment of others you may be asked to leave.

3.0f      The most important thing is to remember to have a good time.  These requirements and guidelines were established to ensure everyone is fully prepared and each person knows exactly what to expect come event time.  We also implemented these rules to eliminate any potential problems that can occur during this event.  We do not anticipate these rules to be an issue, but they are a necessary evil.  We want this to be a great gaming environment where everyone can kick back and get a few frags.

3.0g     Food and Drinks are allowed ONLY in the area outside the game lab.

3.0h     Remember that parents will not be at the LAN party so clean up after yourself.  IF you leave a mess you will not be allowed back to other events we sponsor.

4.0 Violation Penalties

Anyone who does not comply with said rules will be asked to leave-no questions asked.

These rules are set by RESNET so if you have any questions, or are unsure about a certain aspect of the game e-mail us.
